Touch The Sky

So if any of you listen to Air1, they've been playing this new song (a little too frequently), but this morning I actually listened to the words and realized how great the lyrics are. The song is "Touch the Sky" by Hillsong.
Here are my favorite lyrics from the song.

My heart beating, my soul breathing
I found my life when I laid it down
Upward falling, spirit soaring
I touch the sky when my knees hit the ground
-When we give our lives to God, we find ourselves. When we fall on our knees, surrendering to God, we can touch the sky. We can do anything when we give our lives to God!

What treasure waits within Your scars
This gift of freedom gold can't buy
I bought the world and sold my heart
You traded heaven to have me again
-Our scars will bring us treasure in the end, as God gives us his ultimate freedom from death. No matter what we do, God will still do anything to get us back.

Find me here at Your feet again
Everything I am, reaching out, I surrender
Come sweep me up in Your love again
And my soul will dance

On the wings of forever

The Great Adventure

What if we said yes to living a daily adventure with Jesus?

Jesus sees all we do, all we think, all we say, and he looks at us and loves us. He looks at you and loves you.
Yet we still choose to walk away from him in troubled times, we still turn to others and seek from them what God has already given us.

When I think of adventure, I think of a really big ocean, and really tall trees, both of things I am afraid of.
The ocean, because it is so vast, unknown, deep and dark. You can’t see what’s coming, and you can’t see where the end is.
Tall trees, because I’m afraid of heights, afraid of how bad the fall might hurt, how small I feel when I look up at the sky.
If these are the things I think of as adventure, does that mean I am afraid of adventure? I think at times, we are all afraid of adventure. Afraid of the wilderness, the beasts, and sometimes even afraid of the beauty that emerges from it. But we shouldn’t be afraid. We shouldn’t be afraid to embark on an adventure with Christ, as he leads us into the great unknown full of wonderful things.
“Do not be afraid, for I am with you always,” He says.

Disturb us, Lord, when
We are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true because we have dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance of things we possess, we have lost our thirst for the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life, we have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth, we have allowed our vision of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wider seas where storms will show your mastery;
Where losing sight of land we shall find the stars.
We ask You to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future in strength, courage, hope, and love.

Needtobreathe Poem

This poem is about life. It's made up of lyrics from my favorite artists ever,
Needtobreathe

The hurry is going to bring you to your knees,
Your eyes are going to rob you of your thunder,
Caught with your hands off the wheel,
but your foot on the gas
We’re just waiting for the crash
It’s true that time is wearing us down
We fall further and further away
Waiting for always to change
Who would listen to the cries of a poor man?
As the colors of our boots keep fading,
How could we be something?

Leave your hurting on the road behind you
Let the wind go with you ‘til the morning comes
Your sorrow, it can’t save you
It won’t answer for what you’ve done
Every heart has an hour of existence
Every breath a chance for redemption
In the crowd of the dead and disappointed
We’re all ashamed, giving up on what we wanted
But Aren’t we all just at least worth another try?

Cause if you never leave home,
If you never let go
You’ll never make it to the great unknown
Until You tear down the prison walls
Don’t start the curtain call
Your chains will never fall until you do
Ever growing, steadfast
And if need, be the one that’s in the gap
Be the never turning back
Twice the heart any man could have
Be more heart and less attack

Let us love like children
Make us feel like we’re still living
Give us time to beat the system
Make us find what we’ve been missing
In a world I know that’s burning to the ground
Be the light in the crack
Slow to anger quick to laugh
Be the wheels not the track
Be the wanderer that’s coming back
Leave the past right where it’s at
The more you take the less you have
It’s you in the mirror staring back
Quick to let go, slow to react
Be more heart, and less attack

Don’t let the night become the day
Don’t take the darkness to the grave
I know pain is just a place
The will has been broken
Don’t let the fear become the hate
Don’t take the sadness to the grave
I know the fight is on the way

When the sides have been chosen
