My Story

Here is my story.
My name is Carlie. I have two awesome parents and 2 little sisters, and the cutest pets you have ever seen.

I started singing practically in the womb, and I took my first piano lesson around the age of 4 or 5, and I am still doing both today! I love to read, write, and paint. I have gone to an amazing baptist church my whole life, where I have made my closest friends and mentors.

When I was four years old, I was diagnosed with AV Nodal Re-Entry Tachycardia, meaning my heart did not beat the same as normal hearts. I was put on medicine at the age of four to regulate my heartbeat. When I was eight, I had my first surgery to try and fix my heart, but it failed. In February 2011, I had another surgery to try to heal my heart, and it once again did not work.

Later in April of 2011, I was sent back for my third and final surgery, because the third time's a charm. Looking back, I can say that my surgeries were the scariest things I have ever experienced, but having my heart healthy was definitely worth it. Because of my heart problems at such a young age, I have always had anxiety issues. I was not medicated for my anxiety until 2013, and it is nothing to be ashamed of! Of course, working towards eventually ending medication is the ultimate goal, but God has met me right where I am,  and He is my ultimate source of comfort!

I was baptized in 2010, and have been striving towards living out my faith ever since. I am now involved not only in piano and voice lessons, but also in theater, worship teams, choir, and youth group/church. I love school (yes I know I'm weird), and my life has been and still is a roller coaster full of experiences, laughs, tears, hard work, and so much more, but having Jesus on the ride next to me is what makes it all worth it!
